Happy Inside

I stopped checking every mirror Waiting for a different face Funny how I heard myself Before I found the words to say Nothing needed fixing Nothing had to disappear Even all my restless questions Finally sounded clear Maybe I was never broken Maybe I just needed time Every part I used to question Finally felt like mine Happy inside Nothing left to fix in me I don't need another version I don't need another name Happy inside Every part of me belongs I was searching for a feeling That was mine all along I don't measure empty spaces I don't bargain with the past Every moment keeps unfolding Without asking me to rush What if all this quiet breathing Isn't something I should earn Maybe every wrong direction Only helped me make the turn Nothing happened Nothing changed Still the colors found my eyes Maybe happiness was never loud Maybe it was mine Happy inside Nothing left to fix in me Every heartbeat keeps me here Right where I'm supposed to be Happy inside Every piece has found its place I was waiting for tomorrow Then I finally met today
