Read But Don’t Reply

Blue light in the dark again Your name lights up my screen I shouldn’t care But I still do You watch my stories every night Like that’s your way of staying close Say you’re busy, say you’re tired But you’re never offline though Three dots, then nothing there Like you changed your mind mid-air I keep telling myself It’s not personal If silence is your answer Say it clear Don’t keep me guessing Standing here You read it, but you don’t reply Leave me hanging every time If you’re done, don’t keep the line You read it, but you don’t reply You read it, but you don’t reply Like my words just passed you by If I matter, prove me wrong You read it, but you don’t reply Maybe I’m too easy to ignore When I’m not in your arms You read it, but you don’t reply Tell me why that hurts so much I’d rather hear a goodbye Than feel nothing at all You read it, but you don’t reply Every silence says enough If this is how we end Just hit send Yeah... Still waiting
